• August 2026 Start About Academy for GOD Academy for GOD is a non-public Category 3 Christian school serving approximately 240 students in grades K-12 in Old Hickory, Tennessee.

We are committed to strong academics, Christian character formation, and a structured, supportive learning environment. Our instructional approach is rooted in Explicit Instruction (Anita Archer model). Position Overview Academy for GOD is hiring part-time K-6 Specials Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. These hybrid roles combine student supervision responsibilities with afternoon specials instruction across multiple elementary classrooms. Teachers will support classroom flow during lunch, recess, and snack times while also leading engaging specials classes including Visual Arts, Character Education/Bible, and Physical Education.

Open grade-level tracks include:

Kindergarten & 3rd Grade 1st, 2nd & 4th Grade 5th & 6th Grade Responsibilities Provide supervision during lunch, recess, and snack times Teach daily specials classes in assigned grade bands Lead age-appropriate activities in Visual Arts, Character Education/Bible, and PE Assist with Wednesday Chapel logistics and supervision Maintain a warm, structured, and consistent classroom presence Support positive student behavior and transitions Collaborate with classroom teachers and the K-6 Principal QualificationsRequired Experience working with elementary-age students Strong classroom presence and relational skills Reliability, consistency, and professionalism Alignment with the school's Christian mission and values Preferred Experience in elementary education, childcare, youth ministry, or coaching Background in art, PE, Bible instruction, or music Tennessee teaching license (not required) Compensation & Schedule Part-time W-2 employment Approximately 8-15 hours per week depending on assignment Hourly compensation based on experience Monday-Friday daytime schedule Why Join Academy for GOD?
