Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Daycare Teacher to inspire young minds and foster a nurturing, engaging learning environment. In this vital role, you will lead classroom activities, develop innovative curricula, and support the overall growth and development of children in your care. Your leadership will ensure that each child receives personalized attention, promotes early childhood education best practices, and cultivates a love for learning. Duties Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers. Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques while fostering social-emotional development. Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, developmental milestones, and any special needs related to early intervention or special education. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and staff, providing guidance on classroom management, lesson planning, and child welfare best practices. Maintain compliance with licensing regulations, standardized testing protocols, and childcare standards to ensure high-quality care. Support children's individual needs by integrating early childhood development strategies and working with children who require additional support or special education services. Oversee classroom organization, safety procedures, and cleanliness to promote a healthy learning environment. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood education trends, Montessori techniques, or other specialized areas such as tutoring or early intervention. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting with demonstrated classroom management skills. Strong background in early childhood education principles including curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and physical education. Familiarity with Montessori methods and experience in toddler care or preschool environments preferred. Knowledge of behavior management strategies that promote positive social interactions and emotional well-being. Experience working with children who have special needs or require early intervention services is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and community partners. Ability to plan engaging lessons that meet developmental milestones while adhering to state licensing standards. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor staff and foster teamwork within the classroom setting. Certification in CPR/First Aid is required; additional certifications in childhood development or special education are a plus.
