The goal of teachers at Itzcali Montessori is to provide a warm, nurturing, safe, and loving environment where self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged, and individuality respected. Children are immersed in the Spanish culture on a daily basis. This means speaking in Spanish to the children at all times. Candidates should be comfortable interacting with families and have experience with creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Protects the safety of all children in the classroom and directly supervises children at all times.
- Uses positive phrasing in Spanish with children.
- Communicates frequently in Spanish with children throughout the day, naming objects, and actions, using who, what, when, where. and why, and open-ended questions.
- Co-plays/interacts with children during play activities in Spanish both indoors and on the playground.
- Treats each child with dignity and respect, recognizing the cultural and socio-economic diversity of the population.
- Is responsible for all mealtime activities of the group. Monitors children closely during meals.
- Leaves classroom at the end of the day with tables cleaned, and floors free of debris and toys.
- Shares cleaning duties fairly with co-workers and maintains a clean safe and attractive classroom.
- Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Experience with children in a classroom setting
- Knowledge of toddler care and early childhood education principles
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain
