This role will begin as part-time with the opportunity to transition into full-time based on performance and center needs. At Discovery Learning Center Academy, we are a preschool, not a traditional daycare . Our teachers are actively engaged in instruction throughout the day, using a structured curriculum to teach children at a high-impact level that prepares them for kindergarten and beyond.

Required Qualifications:

Lead Preschool Teacher 2 year of proven experience in Early Childhood Education, (ECE) in a licensed child care facility. Preschool Teacher, with a strong foundation in classroom management. Willingness to learn and implement the ABEKA curriculum. Valid CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certifications. A nurturing spirit that aligns with the values of the Discovery Learning Center Academy community and mission. Dependable, organized, and proactive, with a desire to stay with the center for a full academic year .

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a classroom of 18 month to 5-year-olds, ensuring a positive, safe, and engaging environment that incorporates Christian principles. Deliver age-appropriate lessons using our ABEKA curriculum, while fostering curiosity and a love for learning. Model positive behavior, kindness, responsibility, and compassion. Collaborate with a team of educators to create a supportive learning atmosphere for both children and staff. Build strong relationships with parents and communicate effectively about their child's development in a faith-centered environment. Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness in alignment with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care. Complete 30 hours of annual training required by licensing. Perform essential physical job functions including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
