Job Description
Overview The Household & Family Assistant is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the home, including meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, household errands, organization, light housekeeping coordination, and occasional supervision of two young boys (ages 4 and 6). The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, organized, enjoys cooking, and is comfortable providing support wherever needed to help the household run smoothly. Responsibilities Meal Planning and Preparation Plan nutritious weekly family meals. Prepare dinners on a regular basis and breakfast/lunches on occasion. Meal prep for the week to support busy family schedules. Prepare healthy snacks for children. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen. Monitor refrigerators and freezers to dispose of expired products and leftovers Wash dishes and clean kitchen surfaces after meal preparation. Create grocery lists based on meal planning and household needs. Accommodate food allergies, dietary preferences, and nutritional goals Grocery Shopping & Errands Grocery shopping. Pick up prescriptions. Dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up. Package mailing and shipping. Purchase household supplies. Purchase gifts and special occasion items. Return merchandise. Coordinate service appointments. Other miscellaneous errands as assigned. Laundry & Household Care Wash, dry, fold, and put away family laundry. Change children's bed linens and towels. Iron or steam clothing as needed. Organize closets and clothing. Monitor children's clothing for sizing and seasonal needs. Maintain laundry supplies. Childcare Support (Occasional) Supervise two boys (ages 4 and 6) when parents are unavailable. Prepare meals and snacks for the children. Assist with after-school routines. Transport children to school or activities when requested. Assist with homework and reading. Engage children in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities. Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times. Assist with bedtime or evening routines when needed. Instruct children to clean up play areas and organize toys. Household Administration Assist with travel preparation and packing. Help prepare the home for guests or family gatherings. Maintain confidentiality regarding family matters. Special Projects Organize garages, closets, and storage spaces. Assist with holiday preparations. Assist with birthday parties and family events.
