Job Description
First Steps Preschool, a weekday ministry of First Baptist Katy, is a well known and highly regarded Preschool in the Katy area for the past 52 years. We seek to serve the Katy and surrounding communities by offering a vibrant, engaging, safe and Christ-centered early education experience for children aged 18 mos - 5 years old. We follow KISD schedule and holidays. Job Overview We are seeking passionate and dedicated Christian Preschool Teachers to join our educational team for the 2026-2027 school year. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves developing lesson plans and implementing existing curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of preschool-aged children, ensuring their growth in preparation for Kindergarten. Benefits and Details Paid Holiday Compensation for 3 weeks during school closures for Thanksgiving, 1 Week of Christmas, and Spring Break Paid compensation for bad weather days Teachers' children receive a 50% tuition discount! All positions are Co-Teacher relationships (no lead/assistant) Three (Tuesday-Thursday) or Four (Monday-Thursday) Day Positions. Closed on Fridays. Working hours are approximately 8:30am - 3:00pm (with a max of 7 hours per day), making this an ideal schedule for those with school aged children. Experience/Requirements Must possess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be able to articulate why you consider yourself a Christian. A degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Teacher Certification, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience working with children in a preschool setting or daycare environment. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote early literacy, math, and physical education. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning. Manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting positive interactions among students.
