Job Description
Provide a safe, nurturing environment, planning, organizing and carrying out a developmental appropriate program for children 6 months through 5 years of age and serving as an appropriate model for lab students.
Associate Degree in Child Development or closely related area from a nationally or regionally accredited university is required with a commitment to continuous enrollment in a Bachelor's program. Bachelor Degree in Child Development or closely related area preferred. Two years wage earning experience as a teacher of young children (0-5 years) in a licensed child care center required

- Knowledge of the Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care and the NAEYC Standards of Accreditation.
- Supervises trains and utilizes the services of lab students.
- Maintains requirements for a safe and healthy environment for the children.
- High Standards upheld for a lab school reflected by professionalism, participate in professional association, pursue professional development and educational experiences to help connect theory to practice, maintains appropriate level of education.
- Provide a developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum to encompass all developmental domains and to include a variety of learning areas; music, art, literacy, math, science and social studies with program materials appropriate to interest, abilities and developmental needs of the children.
- Knows appropriate guidance techniques that support the overall program goals and objectives of CTC Child Development.
- Record child's progress of growth and development, prepare progress of growth and development, prepare progress reports on each child and discuss report with parents.
- Be aware of and abide by Texas Minimum Standards and NAEYC Standards. Comply with center Policies and Procedures for staff.
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
