Passion for proclaiming the Gospel Possess loving and nurturing theological perspective Experience in teaching and leading children, youth and young adults in a faith setting Satisfactory completion of background screening and Child Abuse Prevention Training Possess a current CPR and First Aide Certificate Preferred over 25 years of age (due to insurance requirements)
Duties:
Develop and lead age-appropriate Wednesday Night and Sunday Morning Programing/Curriculum for Children (age 3
  • Grade 5) and Youth (Grade 6
  • 12) Ministries. Develop and lead Family Improvement for Kids. (Grades K
  • 8th) (In partnership with CPS) Develop and Oversee Young Adult Ministry. (Post Highschool
  • 30) Oversee Trunk-or-Treat.
Assist with Day Camp and Summer Camp, as assigned. Assist with transportation of kids, as assigned. (Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; year-around) Write and send the weekly youth E-News for parents. Maintain children's busy bags for worship. Regularly attend Monday morning staff meetings. Ensure First Lutherans Children & Youth Protection Policy standards are maintained. Report to the DFOM any issues which may hinder the carrying out of the duties or responsibilities. Communicate in advance by phone to the
DFOM:
1) any planned absences with an advance two-week notice, or 2) any unplanned absences at least two hours prior to the shift. Do additional tasks as assigned.
Conditions of employment:
1. Working hours Average of 25 hours per week 2. Compensation $20.00 Per Hour (2025) Reimbursement for work-related miles driven at current IRS rate. 3. Pay day Bi-weekly with Federal Income Tax and Social Security deductions taken out. 4. Employee Review To be completed annually.
Disputes:
Any Disputes between the Director of Family and Outreach Ministries and the Children and Youth Ministry Assistant that cannot be resolved between those parties will be brought to the attention of the Pastor.
Termination of employment:
Unless dismissed for cause, the Children and Youth Ministry Assistant will give two weeks' notice in writing. There is no severance pay.
