Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional development for toddlers. Lead daily classroom activities that support childhood development milestones and encourage exploration through play-based learning. Manage classroom behavior with positive behavior management techniques to foster a respectful and inclusive environment. Oversee classroom management duties including lesson planning, maintaining a clean and organized space, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Collaborate with families to communicate progress, address concerns, and support early intervention strategies when needed. Incorporate specialized educational approaches such as Montessori methods or other early childhood education philosophies to enhance learning experiences. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or student teachers, providing guidance on classroom management and instructional best practices. Skills Extensive experience in toddler care and early childhood education with a strong understanding of childhood development principles. Proficiency in curriculum development tailored to preschool-aged children with an emphasis on literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills. Knowledge of special education needs and early intervention strategies to support diverse learners. Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Strong classroom management skills to create an organized environment conducive to learning and growth. Ability to plan lessons aligned with developmental milestones while incorporating innovative teaching methods like Montessori or standardized testing approaches when appropriate. Experience working in daycare settings or private schools with preschool age groups is highly desirable.
