Job Type:

Willowbrae Academy is seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Director to join the leadership team at one of our large, high-performing early learning centers. In this role, you'll work closely with the Center Director to help manage daily operations, support staff, and foster strong relationships with families—while contributing meaningfully to a positive and professional campus culture.

Position Overview As the Assistant Director , you'll play a key supporting role in the overall success of the center. From ensuring compliance and managing logistics, to mentoring staff and assisting with enrollment, you'll help ensure that everything runs smoothly—while also setting a warm, collaborative tone across the team. This is an ideal role for an experienced early childhood educator with leadership potential and a passion for operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Partner with the Center Director to support day-to-day operations and ensure licensing compliance. Serve as acting Director in their absence, maintaining leadership continuity and accountability. Support staff through coaching, scheduling, and day-to-day classroom needs. Help lead center tours, guide families through the enrollment process, and support family engagement efforts. Assist with administrative duties, recordkeeping, and supply management. Contribute to a positive campus culture by modeling professionalism, promoting teamwork, and supporting morale. Collaborate on center events, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications CDA Preferred/Plan to Achieve Directors License Preferred/Plan to Achieve Degree in Early Childhood Education/Education Preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting, ideally with team leadership experience Strong knowledge of licensing requirements and early learning best practices CPR and First Aid certification (up to date) Clear child abuse registry and criminal record check What You Bring A strong foundation in early childhood education and a desire to grow as a leader. Clear, confident communication and a team-focused mindset. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. A calm, solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
