Spanish Preschool Teacher Little Language Ambassadors Job Category Academic-Teaching Overview Description
PRESCHOOL TEACHER
Little Language Ambassadors is a premier Spanish immersion preschool committed to nurturing the minds of our students and inspiring them to become little global citizens. Our curriculum is based on children learning through engaging, purposeful, interactive activities while being immersed in the Spanish language and Latin culture. We are seeking a teacher who has the desire and skills to be an integral part of building a solid foundation for the future success of our little ambassadors.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and implement an age-appropriate curriculum. Ensure planned activities meet academic and developmental milestones while promoting and teaching Spanish language and Latin culture. Monitor children to ensure a safe and healthy environment, both indoors and outdoors, following all rules and procedures of the school, as well as CA Child Care Center licensing requirements. Manage classroom behavior by establishing rules and limits while maintaining a positive attitude and providing a stress-free environment. Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean classroom and facility. Create positive relationships and open communication with parents and co-workers. Attend and participate in staff meetings, training, and other school functions. Demonstrate professional and strong work ethic, Be respectful, punctual, and organized, Perform other duties, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPECTATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old. Must be fluent in Spanish. Completed a minimum of 6 ECE credits. BA in Early Child Education preferred. Mentally and physically capable of commanding a classroom alone with up to 12 children. Must be able to attend to children's needs; assist children with meals and bathroom time, including diaper changing, if needed. Must be physically able to care for a child if he/she gets injured/sick, which may include lifting up to 35 lbs. Must be creative, engaging, and full of energy, and like to sing and dance. Must be able to problem-solve and resolve conflicts in a positive manner. Be resourceful. Must have the ability to be flexible, willing to take on tasks, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
