Job Description

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Toddler Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 1-2 years old. The Toddler Teacher is responsible for supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities, structured routines, and positive interactions. Responsibilities Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with the center's curriculum. Maintain a consistent daily schedule that includes learning activities, meals, naps, outdoor play, and transitions to support toddlers' routines and development. Foster a safe, clean, and positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and social growth. Use effective communication skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and coworkers. Communicate regularly with families regarding children's progress, behavior, daily activities, and developmental milestones. Observe and assess children's developmental progress and adapt teaching methods and activities to meet individual needs. Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance and redirection techniques appropriate for toddlers. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure consistency in care and curriculum implementation. Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and center policies. Prepare classroom materials and maintain organized learning centers. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, associate degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred. Previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate curriculum planning. Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow and maintain structured schedules. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask, remain patient, and work effectively in a team environment. CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification. Skills & Competencies Effective communication with parents, children, and staff Lesson planning and curriculum implementation Classroom management and organization Time management and schedule adherence Patience, flexibility, and nurturing attitude Team collaboration and professionalism Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds. Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day. Ability to supervise children both indoors and outdoors. Work Environment This position requires active supervision of toddlers in a classroom setting and participation in daily activities, including outdoor play, meals, and nap supervision.

From $12.50 per hour
