Assistant Director - Mini Engineers AcademyJob Overview We are seeking a driven, hands-on Assistant Director to help lead Mini Engineers Academy with structure, energy, and high standards. This is not a sit-back leadership role—this is a lead-from-the-front position where you set the tone for excellence across the entire center. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, support and develop staff, and ensure every classroom delivers a high-quality, STEM-focused learning experience. You will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging environment for children while ensuring full compliance with Texas licensing standards. This position is ideal for a leader who can manage, execute, and step in when needed —someone who leads by example and keeps the entire building running smoothly. Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership Oversee daily center operations, ensuring classrooms run smoothly, transitions are efficient, and expectations are consistently met when the Director is not present. Maintain a structured, organized, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff Hands-On Leadership (Lead by Example) Step into classrooms and operational roles when needed to maintain consistency and quality Provide support during staff absences, peak times, and transitions without disrupting the flow of the day Assist with classroom resets, organization, and maintaining a clean, prepared learning environment Demonstrate professionalism, urgency, and accountability in all areas of the center Staff Management & Development Supervise, coach, and mentor teaching staff to ensure strong classroom management and engagement Support ongoing professional development and hold staff accountable to performance standards Address challenges quickly and implement solutions that strengthen team performance Curriculum & Program Excellence Collaborate with leadership to implement engaging, STEM-based curriculum that supports child development Ensure lesson plans are executed effectively and classrooms remain interactive and purposeful Promote hands-on learning, creativity, and structured exploration Family & Community Engagement Build strong, positive relationships with families through clear communication and professionalism Support tours, events, and outreach efforts to promote the academy and increase enrollment Represent the academy with confidence and enthusiasm Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure full compliance with Texas Minimum Standards, health regulations, and safety procedures Maintain accurate documentation, ratios, and daily operational records Keep the center inspection-ready at all times Strategic & Financial Support Assist with enrollment growth, retention, and program improvements Monitor supplies and support efficient use of resources Contribute to maintaining a high-quality program while supporting financial sustainability Qualifications Experience in early childhood education or childcare leadership Strong classroom management skills with the ability to lead and support multiple age groups Proven ability to supervise staff and maintain accountability Knowledge of Texas childcare licensing standards Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Experience with curriculum planning and implementation (STEM-focused preferred) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization and control

Pay:

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
