English / Language Arts Teacher (Grades 9-12) Utah Preparatory Academy | Hurricane, Utah Utah Preparatory Academy is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and student-centered English/Language Arts Teacher to join our faculty full-time. This position involves teaching English courses for students in grades 9-12 while helping prepare student-athletes for success in college, athletics, leadership, and life. Compensation Base Salary:
$55,000-$65,000 annually , based on experience and qualifications. Position Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Teach English/Language Arts courses for grades 9-12. Prepare engaging lesson plans and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with curriculum standards. Develop and implement instructional plans for English as a Second Language (ESL) students and small-group interventions as needed. Create, organize, and maintain all course content within the Canvas Learning Management System. Design coursework that allows students traveling for athletic competitions to remain current with assignments and assessments. Evaluate student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback. Collaborate closely with fellow faculty members, administration, and academic support staff. Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, effective communication, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. Serve as a positive mentor and role model who supports students academically, personally, and professionally. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in English, Language Arts, Education, or a closely related field. Preferred Master's degree. ESL endorsement or certification. Two or more years of teaching experience. Experience working with high school students. Collegiate athletic experience or familiarity with the unique needs of student-athletes.
