Job Description
Trinity Preschool Alexandria, a VDOE-licensed child day center serving children ages 18mos to 5 years old, is hiring a Lead Teacher for our half-day preschool program. Optional before and aftercare shifts are available for staff who want additional hours. Core program hours are 8:30 am
- 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with optional before care (8:00
- 9:00 am) and aftercare (12:00
- 5:00 pm) shifts available and paid hourly.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement VDOE-compliant, developmentally appropriate curriculum Maintain a safe, nurturing classroom and manage daily routines Conduct child observations and maintain developmental portfolios Communicate regularly with families about children's progress Supervise and mentor assistant teachers Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and licensing reviewsQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or equivalent VA credential) preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting Current VA Preschool endorsement preferred Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Must pass background check per VDOE requirementsPay:
