PT Floater Afternoon The Goddard School - Chesapeake - 3.1 Chesapeake, VA Job Details Part-time 1 day ago Benefits Career development plan Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description The Goddard School® of Chesapeake, an early childhood education center, is currently seeking a qualified PT morning and/or evening Floater (all ages) to nurture healthy development in children and encourage lifelong learning. The Goddard School® is a renowned program with a Piaget (Learning through Play) based foundation and a leader in the franchised preschool industry which is growing and continues to set the standard for excellence. Our staff is made of loving and dedicated teachers who understand each child's needs. Daily Responsibilities As a Floater, arriving at Goddard each day fully prepared and excited to teach is important. Supporting Goddard's program and policies as well as state licensing policies is required. A Floaters tasks include, but are not limited to: Implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that are individualized to meet the needs of the children in your classroom Creating a classroom that is fun and supports play, exploration and learning Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level. Implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills. Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment Advancing students physical and intellectual competence Supporting social and emotional development and providing both positive guidance and reinforcement Establishing positive and productive relationships with families Ensuring a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs based on Goddard's standards of learning through play Maintaining a commitment of professionalism with students, families, peers and management
Floater Qualifications:
High school diploma and/ equivalent Minimum of 18 years of age Prior classroom experience (Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten) preferred Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices Strong written and communication skills
