The Child Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily living program and the direct supervision of childcare staff at Nation of Resilient Souls LLC. In accordance with 12VAC35-46-370, childcare supervisors shall have responsibility for the development of the daily living program within each childcare unit, and the orientation, training, and supervision of direct care workers. This position provides direct oversight of daily routines, staff performance, and supervision practices and serves as the primary supervisory presence for direct care staff during assigned shifts. Duties Develops, implements, and oversees the daily living program within the residential setting Ensures daily routines support resident structure, accountability, safety, and age-appropriate development Monitors resident participation in daily activities, routines, and responsibilities Orientation, Training, and Supervision of Direct Care Staff (12VAC35-46-370.A.2) Provides day-to-day supervision of childcare staff and relief staff Assists with orientation of newly hired childcare staff Reinforces training related to supervision practices, safety procedures, documentation, and resident care Ensures staff comply with supervision, safety, and ratio requirements Monitors staff performance during shifts and addresses issues promptly Ensures staff complete required DBHDS training prior to working independently Assists with staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with staff-to-resident ratios Coordinates with the Program Director regarding staffing needs, absences, and coverage concerns Ensures uninterrupted supervision during all shifts Reviews daily shift documentation for completeness and accuracy Communicates resident concerns, incidents, or staffing issues to the Program Director Participates in staff meetings, supervision sessions, and program planning as required Qualifications A baccalaureate degree in social work or psychology and two years of professional experience working with children, One year of which must have been in a residential facility for children; OR A high school diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.) certificate and a minimum of five years of Professional experience working with children, with at least two years in a residential facility for children; OR A combination of education and experience working with children, as approved by the department Join us in creating a safe, engaging space where children can thrive!
