Daycare Assistant Petersburg, VA 23805 $14.00 - $16.50 an hour - Part-time, Full-time $14.00 - $16.50 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Overview Join our vibrant childcare team as a Daycare Assistant and become a vital part of creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young children. In this role, you will support early childhood development by assisting with daily activities, supervising children, and ensuring their well-being. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a positive atmosphere where children can learn, play, and grow confidently. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while developing your skills in early childhood education. Duties Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement Assist with classroom organization, including setting up learning materials and maintaining cleanliness Provide attentive care to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed Support behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions and cooperation among children Help monitor children's progress and communicate observations to teachers or caregivers Follow health and safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure environment for all children Qualifications Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and parents Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism Passion for nurturing young minds and supporting early childhood growth Join us in shaping bright futures!
