Daycare Classroom Lead Teacher

About the Role As a Lead Teacher in our toddler and preschool classrooms, you are the primary caregiver and educator for your assigned group of children. You will plan and deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum, maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment, build warm relationships with families, and model the professionalism and care that defines our center. Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment Supervise and engage children throughout the day Monitor children's behavior, progress, and developmental milestones Maintain daily schedules including meals, naps, learning activities, and outdoor play Ensure classroom cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress and needs Mentor and support assistant teachers and classroom aides Maintain accurate attendance and classroom records Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies Qualifications High school diploma or GED required CDA, Associate's Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred Previous childcare or preschool teaching experience required Strong classroom management and communication skills CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities Passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development Preferred Skills Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development Knowledge of child development and positive behavior guidance Team-oriented with a positive attitude Reliable, patient, and organized
