The Children's Center Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded program that provides no-cost services to qualifying families in the community. Comprehensive services are provided to pregnant women, their partners, and children from birth to age 5. Child development, health, and family services are offered through a variety of program options designed to meet the needs of low-income and at-risk families. About the Opportunity The Children's Center is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our teaching team in Suffolk and Smithfield, VA ! Our preschool program builds the strong academic foundation children need for future success through structured learning, creative play, and nurturing classroom environments. Our classrooms are led by dedicated educators who value open communication with families and are passionate about supporting children's cognitive, emotional, and physical development. What Our Teachers Do Implement our research-based Creative Curriculum that promotes discovery and exploration as a way of learning Lead structured classroom and playground activities appropriate for each developmental stage Maintain compliance with Virginia Licensing and Head Start/Early Head Start regulations Build healthy partnerships with families through direct communication and engagement Foster a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for all children We Are Looking For Candidates Who Have 1-3 years of classroom experience and strong classroom management skills Hold CPR/First Aid certification (preferred) Demonstrate flexibility with work hours and scheduling Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic Are familiar with Virginia Licensing regulations
