Job Description

SALARY CONTRACT
is approx. 180 days Greenwood Christian Academy is a Christian school with a mission to equip students through a Christ-centered curriculum, with values of faith, honor, service, excellence, and leadership. Greenwood is committed to instilling a Christian worldview based on the truth from the inspired Word of God. We are hiring teachers that are committed to producing academically successful students who possess a biblical worldview. It is expected that the Preschool TEACHER will … Perform the professional duties of a preschool teacher in accordance with the school's policies and under the supervision of the school administrator. Hold an Associates degree from an accredited post-secondary institution or be willing to participate in a program to complete such a degree within a specified time period. Be willing to participate in a program to complete the requirements for certification within a specified time period. Instructs students in a program of study which meets stated objectives and prepared students to master grade level standards. Create lessons plans that incorporate instructional strategies, considers learning styles and actively engage students. Establishes and maintains classroom standards of behavior with positive reinforcement. Follows the school-wide discipline policy. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports and other documentations as needed. Communicates regularly with parents or guardians through conferences and other means to discuss student progress. Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the school administrator.
Required Personal Qualities:
It is expected that the Preschool Teacher will... Sign and live by the school's lifestyle statement (attached) as a condition for employment and continued employment in this ministry. Have the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to "train a child in the way he should go" (Prov. 22:6, NIV). Be an enthusiastic visionary, an encourager, and a self-starter with a high energy level. Demonstrate sensitivity toward staff, parents, volunteers, and children, and an ability to interact effectively with them. Meet everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism. Understand the importance of discernment, discretion, and confidentiality in the operation of the classroom and school. Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with courtesy, patience, friendliness, dignity, respect, and a good sense of humor. Defend principles and conviction in the face of pressure and partisan influence. Recognize her or his mistakes and take measures to correct them. Be a team player. Use acceptable English in written and oral communication. Speak with a clear articulation. Respectfully submit and be loyal to constituted authority. Make an effort to appreciate and understand the uniqueness of the community. Place her or his school ministry ahead of other jobs or volunteer activities. Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste consistent with school policy.
