Aug 14, 2025 Job Description Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has opportunities for full-time Preschool Assistants at our Summit Street School, beginning with the 2026-27 school year. The Preschool Assistant supports the teacher in ensuring a safe and enriching environment for young children. They assist with student behavior, record-keeping, instructional support, and communication with stakeholders. Additionally, they help with classroom setup, and safety measures, and contribute to policy implementation. They also play a role in assessing student progress, developing individualized programs, and providing overall support to students and staff. Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply: Associate's degree in early childhood education preferred, but not required. Must maintain regular and reliable attendance in this school-based, student-focused position Experience with, and love for, working with preschool aged children Relevant experience in a school setting is desirable Knowledge of children with disabilities of special education students, and special education teaching methods preferred Holds or is able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, training provided Able to effectively work without specific direction, and with minimal supervision. Good oral and written communication skills.

Pay:
