PRESCHOOL LEAD HOURS
Part-Time, Morning Care:
6:30 AM until school starts,
Afternoon Care:
From school dismissal until 6:00 PM •Candidates may apply for Morning Care, Afternoon Care, or both•
SALARY RANGE
$23.00 to $26.00 hourly

BE A LEADER IN PRESCHOOL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT A
Preschool lead works directly with preschool-aged children (ages 3-5) in a licensed program setting, providing structured, engaging experiences that support early childhood development. This role requires a balance of child-centered learning, social-emotional development, and play-based activities that prepare children for future academic and personal success. The ideal candidate is energetic, patient, and skilled in guiding preschoolers through age-appropriate learning experiences and daily routines while fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead structured and unstructured activities designed to support preschoolers' social, emotional, and cognitive development. Supervise and engage preschool-aged children in creative play, group activities, and interactive learning experiences. Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment through positive behavior guidance strategies. Assist in daily transitions, snack time, hygiene tasks, and routines to support preschoolers' self-care and independence. Build meaningful relationships with children and families to ensure a welcoming and inclusive experience. Communicate professionally with families, staff, and children. Ensure compliance with licensing requirements for preschool-age programming. Provide occasional coverage at other sites to maintain staff-to-child ratios as needed. These responsibilities do not fully encapsulate the scope of the role. You may be asked to perform tasks not listed here and to provide coverage at other sites occasionally to maintain staff-to-youth ratios.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with preschool-aged children (ages 3-5) in a childcare, educational, or recreational setting. Must have an Early Childhood Education Certificate through Washington State or 45 credits of ECE/Equivalent credits verified in MERIT (or currently enrolled, working toward this requirement). Strong communication skills for engaging young children and collaborating with families. Ability to implement structured routines and age-appropriate learning activities. Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred. Must pass National Background Check.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
While the following are preferred qualifications, we will provide assistance for new hires to obtain these certifications as needed: Merit account Current CPR certification Current Food Handler's Card STARS certificate Updated MMR vaccination
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Six months to a year of previous experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development setting Fluency in Spanish or Mandarin is a plus
