In this vital role, you will create a warm, engaging classroom environment that promotes early childhood development, literacy, social skills, and emotional well-being. Your leadership will guide a team of assistant teachers and support staff, ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and high-quality education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape young minds through innovative curriculum development, hands-on activities, and compassionate teaching practices. Responsibilities Develop and implement dynamic, age-appropriate curricula that incorporate early intervention strategies, literacy education, and Montessori principles to foster holistic growth. Lead classroom activities focused on childhood development milestones, social-emotional learning, and behavioral management to create a positive learning environment. Oversee daily classroom management, including lesson planning, behavior management, and maintaining a safe and nurturing space for toddlers and preschoolers. Collaborate with families to communicate progress, address individual needs related to special education or developmental delays, and promote child welfare. Supervise assistant teachers and support staff, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure consistent instructional quality and classroom organization. Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods when appropriate to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly. Integrate physical education, math activities, and other subject areas into daily lessons to promote comprehensive early childhood education. Requirements Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom management experience is essential. Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, early intervention techniques, special education practices, and literacy education strategies. Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields; Montessori certification is a plus. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, staff, and community partners effectively. Ability to plan engaging lessons that meet developmental standards while fostering curiosity and independence. Experience with behavior management techniques tailored for toddlers and preschoolers. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment tools.
