This job would have you helping out in-between classrooms and providing assistance to the classrooms where needed. This role is a flexible role and requires someone able to handle not always being in the same classroom every day, while knowing the students and parents and providing appropriate care. Duties Assist lead teachers in preparing and organizing classroom materials and activities aligned with curriculum standards such as Montessori or other early childhood education frameworks. Support children's developmental needs by engaging in play-based learning, literacy activities, math exercises, and social interactions. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies. Help with daily routines including snack time, nap time, bathroom breaks, and transitions to ensure a smooth flow of the day. Foster a safe, inclusive environment by promoting respectful communication skills and encouraging peer interactions. Collaborate with colleagues to develop lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, and curriculum development tailored to early childhood development stages. Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices such as Montessori or other curriculum models. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Ability to manage classroom behavior constructively while maintaining a positive environment. Ability to be punctual and understand staff to student ratios.
