EMPLOYMENT DUTIES

Les Lilas is looking for an English Teacher for our preschool, who is passionate about bilingual education. Our teachers exhibit enthusiasm, a caring attitude, and a love of learning. Montessori certification and/or a Washington State Teaching certificate is strongly preferred. If not currently certified, the applicant must be enrolled in or willing to enroll in a Montessori training program. Les Lilas French Bilingual Community School's mission is to provide children with a strong academic foundation and foster a lifelong joy of learning through a dual French/Montessori curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work individually and as a member of a team
• Excitement for teaching and supporting children ages 3-6 years old
• An appreciation for the complexity and uniqueness of children's developmental timetables
• Proactive and takes initiative
• Flexibility and ability to adapt
• Exhibit leadership and strong problem-solving skills
• Multi-tasking abilities a must
• Creativity
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds (as needed)
• Occasional days/weekends needed, outside of normal shift
• Position is for the school year, (September through June)
• Summer hours may be available as well (for additional compensation)

REQUIRED BEFORE START DATE

• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Background Check through Department of Children, Youth and Families (including fingerprinting) required
• Complete STARS training and all MERIT requirements met
• Records of receiving or having antibodies for measles required, along with a clear Tuberculosis screening test
