Job Description

About the Role Seattle Hebrew Academy's Early Childhood program is seeking a warm, engaging, and experienced educator to serve in a dual role as a Pre-K Lead Teacher and Early Childhood Judaic Teacher. This position includes leading our Pre-K classroom while also supporting Judaic learning across all Early Childhood classrooms (ages 1-5). The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, values relationship-based care, and is excited to bring Jewish learning to life in meaningful, developmentally appropriate, and engaging ways.
Key Responsibilities Pre-K Lead Teacher:
Create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment Support children's social-emotional development, independence, and overall growth Support Kindergarten readiness through developmentally appropriate early literacy, math, and social-emotional experiences Plan and implement play-based, process-oriented curriculum Build strong, responsive relationships with children and families Collaborate with teaching team and program leadership Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive classroom environment
Early Childhood Judaic Teacher:
Plan and lead age-appropriate Judaic experiences across EC classrooms (ages 1-5) Introduce Jewish values, traditions, holidays, and Hebrew language in meaningful ways Use songs, storytelling, movement, and hands-on activities to engage young learners Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate Judaic learning into the broader classroom experience Qualifications Experience working with young children (Pre-K experience preferred) Strong understanding of early childhood development Background in Jewish education, Judaic studies, or relevant experience Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences Warm, patient, and relationship-focused approach Strong communication and collaboration skills What We're Looking For An educator who is responsive, calm, and attuned to children's needs Someone who values play-based, child-centered learning A teacher who can make Judaic learning joyful, meaningful, and accessible A collaborative team member who contributes positively to the school community Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Medical and dental benefits Federal and Jewish holidays off Winter break and summer break Supportive, collaborative team environment Opportunities for professional growth
