Job Description

Sunny Language Academy in the Northgate area is looking to hire a dedicated and enthusiastic Toddler Teacher and Preschool teacher to work with children from 3 months to to Elementary School-aged. We are more than the simple "daycare" experience; children enrolled are immersed in both American and Chinese cultures. We also have an after school program serving neighboring Elementary Schools. We are looking for a teacher who is professional, responsible, and who believes in a child-center philosophy of how children learn and grow.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 am to 5:30 pm
Wage:
Starting $21 - 26/hr

Toddler Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old Must pass a background check Provide vaccinations, including a negative TB test. Meet the WA state Training & Register (S.T.A.R.S) requirements of 30 hours At least 1 year of childcare center paid experience with Children in a classroom setting Fluent in Chinese (Preferred) or Fluent in English (Preferred) CPR/first aid certifications Food Handlers permit
Driver's License Early Children Education CDA, AA Preferred Early Children Education BA Preferred Job Descriptions/Duties:
Supervises a group of children to ensure their health and safety, and to provide for a positive experience for each infant. Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children's learning and growth. Develops and implements an ongoing program of activities, lesson plans, newsletters, classroom events. Professionally communicates day-to-day, confidential and evaluative information with parents/guardians including newsletters and individual parent communication. Provide parent/teacher conferences. Reports all staffing and classroom concerns to the Director in a timely manner. Reports all staffing and classroom concerns to the Director in a timely manner. Follows Sunny Language Academy policies and procedures. Maintains program site decor, cleanliness, and equipment. Responsible for required record keeping of information and children's files. Prepares and serves snacks. Cleans snack area. Attends staff meetings and training as required. Helping lead teacher manage a classroom of up to 18 children. Accompany children to outdoor activities Engage with current and prospective parents and family members.' '
