Children's World 1908 West Layton Ave. Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53221 We are currently looking for staff Registry level 7 and up to join our team.
TODDLERS TEACHERS PRESCHOOL TEACHERS
Teacher Job Requirements Promotes parent-child bonding and nurturing parent-child relationships. Promotes feelings of security and trust in children. Greets children and their parents warmly and with enthusiasm each morning. Assures that each child is warmly greeted upon arrival; each infant is held; and each child is gradually assisted to become a part of the small group. Talks, sings, and reads to children frequently. Responds quickly in a soothing and tender manner to infants' cries or calls of distress. Responds consistently to infants' needs for food and comfort. Tends to children's personal hygiene needs, remaining especially attentive to them during routines such as diaper changing, cleaning, feeding, and changing soiled or wet clothes. Respects children's curiosity about each other; ensures that children treat each other gently. Maintains a safe, clean, care-giving environment, practices good personal hygiene and hand washing, and assures the well being and safety of all of the children in that environment. Maintains a positive, calm attitude and a pleasant, soothing voice, and models this attitude and voice for parents and others working or volunteering in the program. Maintains a cooperative attitude of working together with other teachers, the center director, family coordinator, Executive Director, and parents. Provides for the physical safety of each child from arrival time until departure time. Plans activities for children with special needs, with training and technical assistance from disabilities and mental health specialists; implements individual education plans, behavior management plans, and/or individualized services or activities as outlined for these children. Work with assigned group of children applying best practices for infant/toddler care including DCF and
YOUNGSTARS
standards and requirements. Respond quickly to children's different and personal needs (verbal and non-verbal cues), temperament styles, abilities, and cultures. Document daily individual needs, strengths, interests, attendance, and meal counts for each child. Plan and implement lesson plan activities and experiences that are developmentally appropriate. Prepare and provide materials that are concrete and relevant to the children's interests and culture. Prepare the children's learning environment for children to learn through active exploration and interaction with their teachers. Review and carry out health plans for special diets, allergies, medication administration, etc. Partner with parents to develop educational and family goals and update regularly. Provide direct supervision, training, guidance, leadership, and technical assistance to assigned children's neeeds. Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings. Attends all training opportunities and staff meetings as provided and scheduled. Other tasks as deemed necessary by the Director.
Physical Abilities:
Ability to lift children weighing up to 35 lbs. Ability to sit on the floor, bend at the waist, kneel and/or stoop up to 75% of the time. Ability to see at normal distance. Hear normal conversations and sounds. Use hands and fingers to fill our required forms and paperwork. Ability to perform life-saving CPR and first aid.
