Job Description
General Function Instruct children in activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Instruct children in accordance with goals and policies of the department. Skills and Qualifications General understanding of children, their behavior and development. Minimum of 80 hours of early childhood Training. CPR and First Aid certifications. Willing to maintain license requirements of or staff qualifications by participating in the required continuing education program. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. Principal Activities Plan and implement curriculum. Record individual progress of children. Make daily observations of children's health. Assist in the development of good nutritional habits. Establish and maintain open and effective lines of communication between staff and parents. Plan and implement opportunities for parent involvement. Maintain professional technical knowledge, and support positive communication and atmosphere in work place. Ensure that equipment and materials are available, appropriate, and in good condition. Immediate supervision to assistant teachers and volunteers. Clean center, supplies and care for toys and equipment. Effect on End Result This position helps to ensure that the South Wood County YMCA provides quality childcare for all children who attend the Child Development Center. Salary based on experience $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
