Job Description
Overview Join us this summer as a Camp Assistant dedicated to creating a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging environment for children of all abilities! In this role, you will support the delivery of fun, educational activities while fostering a safe and nurturing atmosphere. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help children develop essential skills in literacy, math, social interaction, and independence. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners' lives while gaining valuable experience in childhood education and special needs support. Duties Assist lead instructors in planning and executing age-appropriate activities that promote literacy, math skills, and social development. Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring they feel included and engaged. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies. Help maintain a safe environment by supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities. Provide one-on-one tutoring or mentoring to children requiring additional support in reading, writing, or math. Communicate clearly with children, parents, and team members to ensure everyone is informed about daily activities and progress. Support classroom organization by proofreading instructional materials and preparing educational resources as needed. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development, and classroom management techniques. Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or autism demonstrates your ability to adapt teaching methods effectively. Familiarity with special education strategies such as Montessori or behavior management approaches is advantageous. Strong communication skills for mentoring, tutoring, and collaborating with team members and families. Previous classroom experience in private schools or early learning environments enhances your ability to thrive in this role. Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with children of diverse backgrounds and needs.
