Job Description
We are seeking a calm, attentive, and nurturing Infant & Young Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood team. This role is centered around responsive caregiving, safety, and consistency during the most important developmental years of a child's life. Rather than traditional "teaching," this position focuses on building secure relationships, reading cues, and supporting development through daily routines and intentional interactions . The ideal candidate is someone who: Notices the small cues (hungry, tired, overstimulated) Brings a steady, grounded presence Understands that caregiving is the curriculum Our Approach In our infant and toddler rooms, we prioritize: Safe sleep practices and SIDS prevention 1 : 1 responsive feeding Consistent routines and primary caregiving RIE-informed practices ( Resources for Infant Educarers ) A calm, predictable environment We use the Frogstreet Press Curriculum as a guide, while recognizing that relationships and caregiving moments are the foundation of learning . Responsibilities Provide attentive, hands-on care including feeding, diapering, and supporting sleep routines Follow and maintain safe sleep standards at all times Engage in floor play, language development, and sensory experiences Observe and respond to children's individual needs and cues Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment Communicate clearly with families about daily care and development Support smooth transitions throughout the day (arrival, naps, meals) Work as part of a team , stepping in where needed Developmental Focus Social-emotional development (attachment, trust, co-regulation) Language development through talking, singing, and interaction Gross and fine motor development through movement and play Sensory exploration and curiosity What We're Looking For Experience working with infants and/or toddlers (preferred) Understanding of developmental milestones (birth - 13 months) Ability to stay calm, patient, and responsive in all situations Strong communication skills with families and coworkers Someone who is reliable and consistent —children depend on you Willingness to follow policies and safety procedures closely A team player with a "jump in and help" mindset Qualifications - 2 years' experience!
MUST HAVE
a High School Diploma or GED required Some college coursework in Early Childhood EducationPREFFERED
Infant Toddler Credential (or willingness to pursue) is a PLUS CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Why This Role Matters The first years of life lay the foundation for everything that follows.
