Full-time, exempt 11-month position Position Summary The responsibilities of this position comprise teaching courses, advising students, and managing the practicum training of the PsyD Clinical Psychology program. Part of the duties of the Director of Practicum Training is to ensure that practicum students are sufficiently placed and trained at practicum sites for their Diagnostic, Intervention, and Advanced Practicum training years. It also includes maintaining and developing practicum site relations, ensuring APA-quality practicum training. As a faculty member, the Assistant/Associate Professor is expected to actively participate in curriculum development and assessment, accreditation, and student-related activities.Reports to Direct Report to:
Program Director of the Hawai i School of Professional Psychology Duties and Responsibilities Program Management and Operation (90% of work time) Manage all facets of practicum training, including student performance and maintaining and developing practicum site relations. Teach 6 teaching credit hours per academic year in the PsyD program Provide comprehensive academic advising and mentorship Provide comprehensive advising on dissertations and student research Actively participate in University, School, and Department committees Actively participate in the accreditation process Actively participate in program assessment, curriculum development, and grant writing Actively develop scholarship (e.g., publications, conference presentations) Other duties and university service may be assigned by the Dean, within the scope of the Faculty Handbook. Education and Experience Minimum Doctoral Degree inClinical Psychology Licensure:
Must be a licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Hawai i. Must retain that license throughout employment. Preferred Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Hawai i. Experience managing supervisees on performance and professional conduct Two (2) years of teaching experience in a university/college setting. Excellent record of teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Demonstrated potential for scholarly research. Possess a strong understanding and experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse students, especially those from Hawai i s local culture. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Must possess high integrity and ethical standards. Must have the ability to create and facilitate a meaningful learning environment. Demonstrate a willingness to teach a variety of psychology courses in a diverse educational setting. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Advanced skills in the use of computer software applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, & SPSS), learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), and the internet. Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to interpret data and prepare reports. Knowledge and experience in using common office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. Physical Requirements Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and require a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand. Other Requirements Attend meetings and provide service as required for the program, school, university, and community committees and work groups. This is a full-time and exempt position. Forty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends, and have a varying schedule when required Performs similar, comparable, or related duties as may be assigned or required Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University.
