Areas of Interest (No Minimum Level Required) Psychology, any specialization License/Certification Required N/A Description of the Department or Unit The Department has 43 full-time faculty members (33 tenure-track) with graduate programs in Clinical, Psychological Science, Industrial-Organizational and Human Resource Management, and School Psychology. There are more than 1400 undergraduate majors and nearly 100 full-time graduate students. Additional information about the Department of Psychology, the University, and the surrounding area is located on the Psychology website. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This is a one academic-year appointment with the potential for renewal on a year-to-year basis. The instructor will have primary teaching responsibilities in the Department, including 4 courses each semester (Fall and Spring). Courses may include those in core foundational areas of psychology, applied areas, or specialty-area topics (see all course offerings in the Undergraduate Psychology Bulletin). Evidence of successful defense of the dissertation must be received by July 31 for a fall hire or November 30 for a spring hire. If confirmation of defense is not provided by the deadline, the candidate will receive a new one-year fixed-term contract and be hired at the rank of Instructor. The candidate's salary will also be reduced to a lower rate commensurate with other full-time instructors in the same department. However, if degree verification is provided before the end of the one-year fixed-term contract, the candidate will be returned to the rank of assistant professor with commensurate compensation beginning July 1 of the following academic year.
