Summary of Position:
Adjunct faculty are essential to providing a quality academic experience for Indiana Wesleyan University students. Adjuncts will employ a range of engaging teaching strategies designed to foster student learning and stimulate class discussion. Applicants must have appropriate academic or professional experience within the given academic discipline, demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning and be able to integrate their Christian faith into the classroom content. Duties and Responsibilities Attend and lead all required class sessions Promptly assess student coursework and submit via Brightspace (the university's learning management system) Coordinate with Division Chair and/or Academic Dean regarding classroom or student issues in a timely manner
Qualifications:
According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement. Education Master's degree in Psychology or related field, or Bachelor's plus equivalent work experience Experience At least two (2) years field experience Required Skills Ability to demonstrate a mature personal faith in Jesus Christ Interpersonal skills that facilitate relationship building and teamwork among colleagues and students Ability to provide constructive feedback to students in oral and written form Proficiency in using computers, internet resources, MS Office and Learning Management software Oral and written comprehension Oral and written expression Speech clarity Ability to advise, instruct, manage and motivate students for excellence in their academic pursuits Ability to effectively work with students, faculty, and support staff in a professional manner IWU Kingdom Diversity Statement IWU, in covenant with God's reconciling work and in accordance with the Biblical principles of our historic Wesleyan tradition, commits to build a community that reflects Kingdom diversity.
