CHS336 The University of Lincoln is seeking an exceptional clinical academic leader to take on the role of Programme Director for the Trent Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy). This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-profile, fully NHS-funded doctoral programme at the centre of regional mental health workforce development and national clinical psychology training. Delivered in partnership with the University of Nottingham and regional NHS Trusts, the Trent DClinPsy is a well-established and highly regarded programme that brings together clinical excellence, research, and strong multi-agency collaboration. As Programme Director, you will provide academic, clinical, and organisational leadership for the Lincoln-based provision, ensuring an outstanding trainee experience alongside the highest standards of quality, governance, and professional accreditation. Working closely with colleagues at Nottingham and with NHS partners across the region, you will help sustain and strengthen the collaborative relationships that underpin the programme's success. You will also guide its future development by supporting planned growth, responding to evolving workforce needs, and driving innovation in clinical education. In doing so, you will lead and support a committed team of academic and clinical staff, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture. The role also offers the opportunity to maintain and develop your own academic and/or clinical profile, contributing to the wider research and impact ambitions of the School. You will be an experienced clinical psychologist and academic leader with the credibility and judgement to operate effectively in a complex, multi-partner environment. You will hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and be eligible for HCPC registration. You will bring significant leadership experience in higher education and/ or the NHS, alongside a strong understanding of professional training, accreditation requirements, and the wider clinical psychology landscape. You will be comfortable working strategically, building effective partnerships, and supporting the development of both people and programmes. Above all, you will be motivated by the opportunity to shape the next generation of clinical psychologists and to make a meaningful contribution to mental health services. The School of Psychology, Sport Science and Wellbeing is a dynamic and research-active community within the College of Health and Science, with a strong track record in high-quality teaching, impactful research, and meaningful external engagement. The DClinPsy programme sits at the heart of this work, combining professional training, research excellence, and civic impact through close collaboration with NHS partners. This environment is further strengthened by the presence within the School of the NIHR-funded Lincolnshire Unit for Mental Health Research (LUMHR), a major investment supporting applied, community-engaged research in areas of high need, and providing a rich context for aligning clinical training with contemporary research and system-wide impact.
