Assistant Professor, Clinical or Counseling Psychology

The department of Psychology at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical or Counseling Psychology to begin August 2026. We are a collegial department committed to high-impact, innovative teaching, active scholarship, and meaningful student engagement. We seek a colleague who shares our passion for undergraduate education in a liberal arts setting. The successful candidate will regularly teach Abnormal Psychology as well as an upper-level seminar course in Counseling and/or Clinical Psychology. Additional teaching opportunities may include Introductory Psychology or upper-level courses in the candidate's area of expertise. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester. Salary range $73,000 - $79,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined by education, experience, and other factors protected by law. Sponsorship of undergraduate research projects is expected; opportunities for course release may be earned through this mentorship ( https://www.stlawu.edu/offices/psychology/student-research ). The successful candidate will join a department of 10 full-time faculty members and two academic support people who are passionate about supporting our liberal arts curriculum through varied and inclusive pedagogies and scholarly pursuits. Approximately 65-85 students choose to declare a psychology major each year. We also co-sponsor a Neuroscience Major with our Biology Department. Candidates with more advanced experience will be considered with adjustments to salary commensurate with education, experience, and other factors protected by law. Minimum Qualifications Applicants should have their Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field, by August 15, 2026, but ABD candidates will be considered.
