20110216FAC Job Description Summary Eastern Oregon University's Psychology Program invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position, with teaching responsibilities for both on-campus and online courses within the program. The Psychology Program seeks applications for a faculty colleague with teaching competency and expertise in biological and/or developmental psychology. In addition, the successful candidate should be willing to teach a senior capstone experimental course as well as research and practicum courses as needed by our students. In terms of department fit, our preference is for someone with research interests in areas which are accessible to both campus and online students at a primarily undergraduate university. Opportunities for summer teaching are also available. This full-time, nine-month, tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidates will start Fall 2026 term, with the appointments starting on September 16, 2026 Eastern Oregon University serves as an educational, cultural and scholarly center in La Grande, Oregon, connecting the rural regions of the state to a wider world. Responsibilities The successful candidate's teaching responsibilities will include on-campus and online classes in the psychology program in areas such as biological psychology, neuropsychology, psychopharmacology, lifespan or child development, research methods/statistics, or writing in psychology. The successful candidate should be willing to teach a senior capstone experimental course. EOU is especially interested in experimental psychologists with research interests in areas which are accessible to both campus and online students at a primarily undergraduate university. The candidate must be committed to ensuring that every student, faculty, and staff member is a full member of the EOU community. Minimum Qualifications A Ph.D. in a field of psychology with emphasis in biological or developmental psychology from a regionally accredited institution or foreign equivalent is required. Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level is required. Demonstrated interest and desire to work withcolleagues. Evidence of or potential for scholarly achievement. Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment. Preferred Qualifications Willingness and capability to establish a research program, be involved with the department, and mentor/advise students. Experience with online teaching and online educational technologies is preferred. Assistant Professor salary range is $60,892 to $76,552 per academic year. Initial assistant professor rank salary is determined by weighted years of teaching based upon the faculty union contract.Open Date:
