General Description:
Seeking a qualified, part-time teacher to teach Developmental Psychology (PSY 230) to high school students through our Dual Enrollment program. This is a 7-week fully online, asynchronous position. The ideal candidate would foster an inclusive, engaging learning environment that supports student success. The rate for this position is $75 per student, per quarter. This is for the 2026-2027 school year.
Job Description:
Essential Job Functions:
Delivers course content through an asynchronous Learning Management System (Canvas) Engages with high school students from various high schools through discussion boards, timely feedback on assignments, and correspondence Grades assignments, quizzes, and assessments promptly, providing feedback to support students' learning Follows established curriculum guidelines and syllabi, ensuring alignment with community college standards (Brightpoint Community College) Maintains accurate records of student attendance and academic progress

Grade reporting
Equipment Operation:
Operates personal computer, basic office equipment and equipment related to the program.
Contacts:
Contact with CCPS staff at all levels, students, and parents
Work Direction/Supervision:
Works under the supervision of the
Coordinator of Student Engagement Decision-Making:
Performs the majority of functions independently under the direction of the supervisor.

N/A Physical Demands:
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear, understand speech and speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly at normal levels indoors and on the telephone. Physical agility to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead. May be required to lift boxes and other materials up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of the Learning Management System (Canvas)
Additional Job Requirements:
Master's degree; 18 post-graduate credit hours in Psychology or a closely related field that provides credentialing through Brightpoint Community College Experience with asynchronous instruction and LMS platforms (Canvas) Ability to work with high school students, maintaining professional, encouraging, timely and clear communication Previous experience teaching online and/or a dual enrollment course is preferred Applicants considered for employment must successfully complete the following background investigations/tests: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Investigation State Police Criminal History Investigation Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation Tuberculosis Screening/Test Compensation Benefits Chesterfield County Public Schools offers a wide variety of benefits to employees.
