The role of the elementary school literacy facilitator is to provide strategies for increasing literacy achievement in all student populations and over Dsylexia Program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitates the school's literacy program and provides leadership for literacy across the school community. Assists teachers in utilizing curriculum maps aligned with Arkansas teaching/ learning standards and reading foundational skills in teaching individual course content. Demonstrates exemplary instruction for elementary school English Language Arts teachers through the following researched-based practices: Observation, coaching, gathering student evidence, debrief/reflection over student work, modeling, co-teaching and post assessment. Provides elementary school English Language Arts teachers training in content, pedagogy, and robust instructional strategies. Assists teachers in diagnosing individual student literacy weaknesses and match these areas of need with appropriate strategies and resources based on the Arkansas Learning Standards. Assists with disaggregating and analyzing any assessment data to help guide teachers' instructional decisions. Monitors and reports the effectiveness and progress of improved literacy instruction and student performance to building principal and leadership team. Helps make recommendations regarding instructional materials. Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs. Maintains professional competence through professional learning activities provided by the District, and/or in self-selected professional growth activities. Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator in the evaluation process. Performs other duties as assignedEDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required; field of study correlated to assignment as a elementary school literacy facilitator with one of the appropriate licensure code numbers 166, 255, 4031 or equivalent. At least 5 years teaching experience is required.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
