Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Reading Interventionist certified with either a 102 or 097 certification to join our elementary district team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of literacy development and intervention strategies to support students in grades K-6 who are struggling with reading skills. As a Reading Interventionist, you will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents to design and implement targeted interventions to accelerate student progress in reading.
Responsibilities:
1.
Assessment and Data Analysis:
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to identify students' reading strengths and weaknesses.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate intervention strategies and monitor student progress.
  • Analyze district reading data to determine student needs within a school.
  • Participate in district reading data teams 2.
Individualized Intervention Planning:
  • Develop personalized intervention plans for students based on assessment data and individual needs.
  • Implement evidence-based intervention strategies tailored to address specific reading difficulties.
  • Monitor and adjust intervention plans based on student progress and response to interventions.
  • Conduct weekly/biweekly assessments to monitor student progress.

Small Group Instruction:
  • Provide small group instruction to students requiring additional support in reading.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional materials and resources to engage students in reading activities.
Must know Fundations/Wilson/Orton Gillingham 4.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other support personnel to coordinate interventions and support student learning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and strategies for supporting reading at home.
  • Communicate a weekly schedule to building and district administration.

Professional Development:
  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and resources related to literacy instruction and intervention including the CSDE SoR modules.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in reading intervention.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention services provided.
  • Generate reports and documentation to track student growth and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations regarding student records and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification 102 required, 097 endorsement preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in literacy instruction and intervention strategies.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in reading interventions based on the Science of Reading.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting assessment data and designing targeted interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and students.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of literacy intervention.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with administering and interpreting literacy assessments (e.g., DIBELS etc.).
  • Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks.
  • Training in specialized reading intervention programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, etc.).
  • Knowledge of diverse instructional strategies and accommodations to support students with varying learning needs.
  • Experience with ATLAS preferred Travel may be required
