Teacher, Stregic Literacy:

A minimum of 24 semester hours in reading instruction is required. Course work must include a course in diagnosis and remediion of reading difficulties, methods of teaching reading comprehension, and methods of teaching foundional reading skills. Must also be certified or certifiable in DoWEA Early Childhood Educion or Elementary Educion. Educion Foreign Degrees and Course Work from Non-accredited Institutions. Credits or degrees earned from a foreign college or university must be evalued prior to acceptance.

Three evaluion procedures are acceptable:

1. The work may be evalued and interpreted by the Internional Educion Research Foundion, Inc., Credential Evaluion Service, Post Office Box 3665, Culver City, CA 90231-3665 or www.ierf.org/ or 310-258-9451. 2. The foreign institution th awarded the degree is on a list endorsed by a regionally accredited university or on a list endorsed by a ste department of educion for the purpose of teacher certificion in th ste (this procedure will require an English translion of the transcript and a copy of the document awarding the degree, together with an authenticed list produced by an American university or a ste department of educion); and 3. The work may be evalued by the gradue division of a regionally accredited university and declared the equivalent of similar undergradue or gradue work in a U.S. institution. Gradues of non-accredited institutions may have their undergradue work valided by admittance to gradue school and completion of a minimum of 5 SH of credit in a regionally accredited gradue college.
