Appropriate Certification including Talented and Gifted endorsement
REPORTS TO
Building Principal and Administrative TAG Facilitator
JOB GOAL
To provide gifted students with advanced learning and enrichment activities, experiences, and opportunities in specifically designated areas of curriculum, helping those students use their special intellectual gifts as fully as possible.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Meets the needs of identified students within the total school program by working with classroom teachers to assess, plan and carry out differentiated instruction. Evaluate student outcomes. Collaborate with the district Talented and Gifted (TAG) team to develop professional learning for staff to maintain and update understandings and skills about servicing talented and gifted students, including social, emotional and intellectual needs Adhere to and refine the North Scott TAG curriculum. Manage Personalized Education Plans and provide guidance in developing and maintaining smooth transition of TAG students to next grade level. Provide direction to students in course selection, enrichment opportunities and college preparation/selection/application. Processes and maintains such classroom textbooks, supplies, and materials as are needed, following established school procedures. Meets with the district TAG teams for the purpose of program development and program evaluation. Adhere to additional program guidelines specified in the North Scott Talented and Gifted Handbook, including: Collaboration to identify students for gifted services. Utilization of the differentiated delivery model. Perform duties otherwise expected of a teacher in the North Scott CSD in accordance with the Teacher Handbook and Iowa Teaching Standards.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Ten month year. Salary established by the Board.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated per contract language.
