8th Grade Literacy Teacher (anticipated)

Responsibilities of this position are teaching comprehensive lessons in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, ensuring all instruction aligns with Iowa Core Standards. The teachere would be expected to utilize data-driven strategies to advance student proficiency in evidence-based writing, complex text analysis, and vocabulary growth while fostering a safe, encouraging classroom culture. Beyond direct instruction, the teacher would be expected to implement rigorous formative and summative assessments to provide actionable feedback and drive student achievement. This role requires active participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) teams to support diverse learners. Additionally, the teacher serves as a primary liaison between the school and the community, maintaining transparent communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic expectations.
