Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Perform duties that are instructional in nature and deliver direct literacy intervention services to students. Serve in a position for which the District Elementary Literacy Specialist has ultimate responsibility for the design of educational programs and services. Strong candidates should have the ability to work with small groups of students, be flexible, work as part of a team, communicate professionally, and have strong self-initiative.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with the District Elementary Literacy Specialist to: Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals and objectives; Make purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that provide for effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task; Plan and implement a program of study designed to meet individual needs of students; Create a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies; Provide documentation of progress through formal and informal assessments. Uses effective oral and written expression to document student progress and share with classroom teachers. Respects the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state and federal laws.
