The ideal candidate will create a classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth. You will lead the classroom, develop curriculum and lesson plans consistent with established guidelines, and oversee student progress. We are searching for a loving, active, and nurturing elementary school teacher to add to our growing team. This role involves working with students in a vibrant, culturally enriched environment that prioritizes character, kindness and spiritual values alongside strong academics. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy education, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning. Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, curiosity, and active participation among students. Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and support diverse learning styles. Conduct assessments including standardized testing and formative evaluations to monitor student progress and tailor instruction accordingly. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques. Collaborate with colleagues, and parents to support individual student needs, including early intervention strategies or other special needs. Mentor students in developing social skills, independence, and confidence while fostering a love for learning. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral notes in compliance with education administration standards. Support library services by integrating literacy activities that promote reading comprehension and writing skills. Assist in curriculum development efforts to continually improve instructional practices and educational outcomes. Skills Proven experience in classroom management within elementary education setting. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention techniques. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, staff, and community members. Proficiency in working with children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education accommodations or working with individuals with autism. Skilled in lesson planning that incorporates literacy education, math instruction, and hands-on activities using learning technology tools. Ability to perform proofreading of student work and instructional materials to ensure clarity and accuracy. Experience with standardized testing procedures, tutoring strategies, and assessment analysis. Writing skills necessary for documenting student progress reports and educational plans. Demonstrated ability to mentor students positively while managing classroom behavior effectively. Preferred Qualifications ⁠ ⁠Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent ⁠ ⁠Possession of valid Teaching Certification ⁠ ⁠We're teaching Punjabi as a secondary language, knowledge of Punjabi is an asset, but not a requirement.
