Stillwater Middle School Job Descriptions for Para/Support Staff The Summer Language Academy Paras/Support Staff supports targeted literacy and language instruction to multilingual learners and students needing additional reading and writing support. This role includes both push-in support within classroom settings and pull-out small group intervention support, with a focus on accelerating language development and literacy skills during the summer session. Collaboration will be critical as paras/support staff will work with classroom teachers to best determine literacy and language supports. Collaboration Partner with classroom teachers to support instruction Communicate student progress and strategies with staff as appropriate Contribute to a positive, team-oriented summer learning environment Learning Environment Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture Encourage student participation, confidence, and language use Implement culturally responsive teaching practices Qualifications Experience working with multilingual learners and/or students needing literacy intervention Knowledge of best practices in literacy instruction and language development Strong collaboration and communication skills Preferred Skills Experience with push-in/pull-out service models Familiarity with structured literacy approaches or intervention programs Ability to use data to drive instruction Compensation $21.00 per hour (external candidates) Internal para candidates receive their current rate of pay.
