Adjunct/Part-Time Job Description The Digital Literacy Instructor is a part-time position that may be located at either Brown Creek Correctional Institution or Anson Correctional Institution in Polkton, NC with primary teaching responsibilities at Brown Creek from 4:30-7:30pm on Mondays & Wednesdays. Under the direction of the Digital Literacy Coordinator, the Digital Literacy Instructor provides educational opportunities to prepare adults learners with the technology skills necessary for the transition to post-secondary education opportunities and/or entry-level employment. Essential Duties Summary Plan and facilitate digital literacy lessons using the NC Adult Education Content Standards with a focus on increasing students' technology skills Communicate material in a positive and appropriate learning environment Provide direct instruction, small group, and individualized educational activities for students Use technology to support instruction Maintain required paperwork including, but not limited to, roster, attendance documents, lesson plans and time sheets Adhere to correctional institution policies and procedures Participate in professional development and training opportunities, as appropriate Communicate with Digital Literacy Coordinator and other College and Career Readiness staff, as appropriate Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree One year teaching experience Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to perform multi-task assignments and create lesson plans Ability to work positively and cooperatively with students and co-workers Preferred Qualifications One year teaching adult learners NRS-recognized teaching credential
