Position:
Reading Specialist Supervisor:
Principal General Job Description:
The Reading Teacher shall provide direct, intensive reading intervention to the lowest performing 1st-3rd students. The position is designed to support and enhance the educational process in grades 1st-3rd.

Qualifications:
At least five years experience as a classroom teacher experience. Level II-III license preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and application of effective educational principals, practices and trends. Ability to effectively communicate in written and oral form. Familiar with state/federal regulations. High level of leadership skills. TESOL endorsed preferred
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, squatting, kneeling.
Performance Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction in literacy and assessment to at-risk 1st-3rd Grade students. Keep abreast of changes in state standards and the current evidence based reading/writing strategies. Assist reading teachers in preparing progress reports to parents. Provide resources and strategies to teachers for remediation of students 1st - 3rd Grade Students.
