Job Description

HEAD TEACHER
Part Time, Seasonal Position About the GO Project The GO Project helps New York City public school students thrive in the earliest stages of their education through year-round academic, social-emotional, and family support. GO Project is based in NYC and all positions for GO Summer 2025 are in-person. Locations are in lower Manhattan and Park Slope, Brooklyn. Position Description The GO Project is seeking exceptional K-7th grade teachers who have experience as educators and at least two years of demonstrated success as a head teacher for our five-week GO Summer elementary and middle school programs. GO Head Teachers are master teachers with a proven ability to raise student achievement when students are struggling academically or socially. Responsibilities of the head teacher include, but are not limited to: Ensuring that students are doing the cognitive work during lessons, are engaging in appropriately challenging thinking, and are using evidence to support their thinking and/or form their answers and opinions Ensure consistent student data collection (formal and informal) and adjust instruction to strategically remediate for misconceptions and lagging understanding Use GO Project classroom structures, such as Morning Meeting and values, to develop social emotional skills Use GO Project curriculum scope to guide instruction Manage a team of classroom assistants, including Teaching Assistants, GO Getters (high school interns), Student Teachers and volunteers to ensure that every adult in a classroom is adequately prepared to support student learning Produce deliverables that are of a high-quality and submitted by deadline.
Deliverables include:
Weekly lesson plan slides uploaded into folder, inputting assessment data, and feedback surveys Qualifications Two or more years of demonstrated success as a K-7th grade teacher with remarkable student growth and/or achievement results Experience leading reading, writing and math for K-4th grade candidates Specialization in ELA or Math for 5th-7th grade candidates Fluency using google drive, google sheets, google forms, and google docs Additional Requirements All staff must pass a background check and provide a medical clearance form signed by a medical professional prior to training. Program Training and Instruction Dates The HT schedule during GO Summer runs on Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 2:30 pm and is in person.

June 30 from 9am to 5pm with additional remote dates throughout June. Dates will be shared.

Compensation :
Salary range for this position is $35/hr for 30 hours per week over 5 weeks. How to
